Rescuing members since 2005

In 2005, there was a forgetful chef who would often pop out for additional ingredients whilst cooking.

With ingredients on his mind, he would invariably forget his keys. At least once a week, his flatmate would have to sneak out of work to let him back in before the place burned down.

They looked for a better solution and found none. SpareKeys.com was born.

Proven systems and processes

The first customers were friends and family in the local area. Keys were stored in a box under the bed. Word spread and as the business grew, the box was replaced by a safe; then the safe by an office. Today, SpareKeys operates across the UK from a network of eight accredited and security inspected depots. The company operates a unique software system that tracks keys as they travel around the country. Teams of dedicated operatives take calls 24/7, serving thousands of customers.

Unique life-assistance service

A large proportion of our members now come to us through their banks, which trust us to provide our service as part of packaged current accounts. Our retention rates are second to none - once you've been rescued by SpareKeys, you'll never want to leave. And those that haven't yet needed rescuing, tell us that they enjoy the fact that it's one less thing to worry about.

The company still stores the chef's keys.
